The community is invited to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church’s annual Pet Blessing on Sunday, October 1, at 1 p.m. It will be held in the church parking lot, 511 N. Conrad Street, in Peotone. Bring all your pets, great and small, for this special blessing.
Pet blessing services are a way for people to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), which embodies his love of animals and all mankind. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and the environment and also is the founder of the Franciscan Order.
