John Wilbur Petersen, of Beecher, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, with his family by his side. Born on January 30, 1933, in Audubon, Iowa, he was the son of Ernest and Agnes Petersen.
John was a dairy farmer for many years. Later in life, he acquired a love for Karaoke, and Johnny Cash was his “go-to” artist. He loved being with his family and friends.
John is survived by his son, Jim (Connie) Petersen; grandchildren, Devin Petersen, Nicole Petersen, Josh Odle, and Justin Odle; and great-grandchild, Kyler Odle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Gail.
Visitation is on Thursday, September 28, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, from 9 to 9:45 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., with burial at St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
