Organized by Peotone Adopt-a-Soldier, a Teal Star Ceremony was held at Manteno Legion Park on Saturday, September 16, after a breakfast at the Manteno American Legion. The ceremony, honoring military who succumbed to PTSD, was held before motorcycle riders left. The ride finished at Momence Anchor Club, where riders were presented with food and raffles.
Adopt-a-Soldier considers its heroes, who have lost their battle with PTSD, as casualties of PTSD. AAS wants this country to take a stand with them and their mission to eliminate the loss of our soldiers and veterans and begin the healing with the recognition of Teal Star Families.
The fourth annual Teal Star Run, about embracing America’s Teal Star Families, provides a platform for strength and love through community, while honoring those lost as casualties of PTSD.
