Concert series wraps with Oak Lawn Fall Music Festival
Oak Lawn’s Music Festival kicked-off on September 9 and ran through September 11 at 95th Street and Cook Avenue.

Oak Lawn’s second annual Fall Music Festival took over the weekend with incredible sounds and delicious treats.
The festival kicked-off on September 9 and ran through September 11 at 95th Street and Cook Avenue.
“All summer long, we have music on our green, ending the season with the Oak Lawn Music Fest,” said Oak Lawn Mayor Terry Vorderer. “It all adds up to a phenomenal family-friendly event and is the perfect way to welcome the fall season.”

The Oak Lawn Music Festival was previously called Fall on the Green. The event was revamped last year, focusing now on an entire weekend-long musical celebration, more geared towards families and adults. It was held on a fenced-in, secure location with police presence, once again, right on the Village Green.
“I think this year’s Music Festival is great,” Jennifer Lenord, of Chicago, said, who attended with her family on Friday night. “It’s very family-friendly and feels safer. We’re really having a good time.”
This end of summer celebration featured 15 bands: Hair, Moving Targets, Sparks Fly, American Pie, The Chancey Brothers, The Dirty Wellies, Brass from the Past, Take Cover, Anchors Away, Too Hype Crew, Stereo Types, 90’s Pop Nation, The Walk-ins, Wild Daisy and Billy Elton.
Throughout the weekend, on three stages, the bands, offering a wide array of musical genres entertained crowds at the free event. However, the fun did not stop there because food tents and food trucks were there as well to celebrate the changing of seasons.
Food offerings were provided by Palermo’s 95th, Nicky V’s, Lucky Burrito, Genoa’s Italian Concession, The Creamery and Nothing Bundt Cake.
“As someone who is in the field of fun, I always enjoy when people come together to enjoy the things this great community has to offer,” Tom Hartwig, Executive Director of the Oak Lawn Park District, said. “The music festival is one of those events that everyone in Oak Lawn marks on their calendar because of the enjoyment they’ve had the previous year. I appreciate all the hard work the Village does to put on this event, and I hope it’s a positive experience for everyone.”
