At its June 19 meeting, the Manteno Village Board passed an ordinance establishing a tax reimbursement account for the 2022 tax year and authorizing distributions to owners of taxable homestead property in the village.
Manteno will be making rebates of 100 percent of the village portion of resident’s property taxes this year. Mayor Tim Nugent said “Persons who wish to take advantage of the rebate can apply now at village hall. You need to bring a driver’s license with you and, if there are two names on your tax bill, that person’s driver’s license will be required, as well.”
Applications will be accepted until October.
“You must be a resident on the property for the whole calendar year of 2022 to qualify,” Nugent added.
