The library’s Fourth of July hours are: Friday, June 30, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Saturday, July 1, from 9 a.m. to noon; Monday, July 3, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and closed on July 4. The parking lot is open for parking during all Beecher Fourth of July festivities.

During the Penfield construction project, the Penfield Street parking lot entrance will be closed, but the Maxwell Street entrance still will be open. Turn north on Maxwell from Indiana Avenue to get to the library.

WiFi hotspots now are available for checkout for Beecher cardholders ages 18 and over. Hotspots checkout for one week and may be taken anywhere for internet on the go! For more information, visit beecherlibrary.org/devices.

The Summer Reading Program, Find Your Voice, is ongoing, and there is still time to sign up! Participants of all ages, even adults, can win prizes just for reading. Visit the library to register!

Our tadpole is getting bigger, but we’re still waiting to see when it’s going to grow legs! Visit the library through July to watch its progress in becoming a frog.

Youth Services

A new take-and-make craft will be available on July 1. Pick up any time.

July 6, at 10 a.m., Summer Storytime in Firemen’s Park: Enjoy stories, games, music, and crafts/activities, at the band stand at Firemen’s Park. Bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. Call to register.

The next book for the graphic/hybrid novel book club for kids is available. Kids will discuss “The First Cat in Space Ate Pizza,” by Mac Barnett, and make cosmic play dough on Wednesday, July 19, at 4 p.m.

Adult Services

June 29 and July 6, from 2-5 p.m., One-on-One Technology Help: Sit down for a half hour and receive technology help with any devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops. Receive help with apps, email, Facebook and social media, computer basics, or get any other technology questions answered. Call to register.

The Afternoon Book Club selection is available for pickup. The group will discuss “The Chinese Orange Mystery,” by Ellery Queen, on July 14, at 1 p.m.

The Evening Book Discussion choice also is available for pickup. The group will be discussing “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell,” by Robert Dugoni, on July 24, at 7 p.m.
