From staff reports
The Justice Park District welcomed The Lunch Bus back for the third year in a row on June 12.
The Lunch Bus is possible through the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and offers free meals for children and teens this summer.
Children and teens 18 and under will receive nutritious meals for free at locations throughout the suburbs, and Carrie Bernardoni, president of the Justice Park District, said she was happy to offer it once again.
“We are excited to bring the program back to the community. Giving kids free healthy meals when school is out for the summer can be a big deal for food insecure families,” she said.
Children must be present to receive meals, and the meals must be eaten on site. No registration is required, and there is no residency requirement. All are welcome.
The Lunch Bus will be at the Justice Park District, 7747 S. Oak Grove Avenue, Monday through Friday, through August 18. Distribution time is from 12:30-1 p.m.
