Augustana College 2023 graduate Emily Luming, a communication sciences and disorders (CSD) and Spanish for professional use double major from New Lenox, was nominated to submit a ‘More Than I Imagined’ profile by Madison Haley, CSD instructor and clinical supervisor.

Haley said Luming is a bright, dedicated, and thoughtful student, and “As her clinical supervisor, I have witnessed her ability to conduct her sessions with confidence and intentionality. Emily has a heart for inclusion as evidenced by her work with the Global Engagement Team and strives to help others succeed through her work as Reading/Writing Center tutor. It has been an honor to know Emily both professionally and personally, and I am confident she will continue to impact many lives in her future.”

Dean’s/President’s/Chancellor’s List

The University of Mississippi announced students named to the spring Chancellor’s Honor Roll, including Kaitlyn Bittner and Madison Fiore, both of New Lenox.

The following local students were named to the President’s List (4.0) at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, including: Alexandria Jaworski from Manhattan, plus Ellie Degroot, Andrew Kwak, Marie Moore, Grace Otto, and Breck Woltman, all from New Lenox.

Additionally, these students were named to the UA Dean’s List (3.5 or above): Brock Oneill, from Manhattan, and Olivia Kirchman, Christa Moore, William Nash, Josephine Schmitt, Nicholas Stafford, and Jonathan Stiglic, all from New Lenox.

John Parker, of New Lenox, who is studying Aeronautical Engineering, has made the Dean’s Honor List for the spring semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh officials released the names of Brian White and Daniel White, of Manhattan, who qualified for the spring Dean’s List.

Reese Farris, of New Lenox, was named to the Abilene Christian University spring Dean’s Honor Roll. Farris is a sophomore majoring in Child and Family Services.

Wartburg College recognized students named to the Winter/May term Dean’s List, including Garrett Geigner of Manhattan and Nathaniel Knutson of New Lenox.

Jak Urbanciz, of Manhattan, was named to the Quincy University Dean’s List for the spring semester.

The following students have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, including: Nick Olson, from Manhattan; Allison Gardella and Taylor James, from New Lenox; and Lauren Tures, from Peotone.

Erica Zmuda, from New Lenox, has been named to the spring  Dean’s List at Missouri State University.

Anthony Carli, from Manhattan, was named to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s (MSOE) Dean’s List for the spring quarter. Carli is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Named to the MSOE Honor’s List for the spring quarter are Mitchell Allen, of New Lenox, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Carissa Jones, of Monee, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Architectural Engineering.

Graduations

The University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences recognized more than 750 candidates during commencement ceremonies May 6. Among the graduates was Kelsi Asselborn of New Lenox, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Maria Telle, from Monee, was among recent Fairfield University students awarded degrees in May. Fairfield University is in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Jonathan Gardner, of New Lenox, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice Administration from Blackburn College in Carlinville, during the institution’s 154th Commencement ceremony in May.

Some 5,885 degrees were awarded during the University of Alabama’s spring 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum. Congratulations to the following local graduates: From Manhattan –  Alexandria Jaworski, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering; From New Lenox – Bridget Koval, Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration; Andrew Kwak, Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering; Naythan McNally, Master of Business Administration; Madeline Melde, Master of Public Health; Christa Moore, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Marie Moore, Bachelor of Science in Education; and Jonathan Stiglic, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Samuel Sumrow, of New Lenox, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Blackburn College during the institution’s 154th Commencement ceremony in May.

Aidan Hart, of New Lenox, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.M. in Music Business and Commercial Music from Millikin University, at ceremonies on May 21.

This past spring, the following local students graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Congratulations to Nick Olson, of Manhattan, who received a degree in Physician Assistant Studies; Allison Gardella of New Lenox and Lauren Tures of Peotone, who each graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Thomas Cook, from New Lenox, recently graduated from the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science degree. He also was named to the Dean’s List for the semester.
