Crete Woman’s Club proudly announces its 32nd year of beautiful garden walks. Five lovely gardens will grace the 2023 “A Day in the Country.” Two Crete gardens, two Monee gardens, and one Steger garden will be showcased displaying nature’s beauty, along with each gardener’s designs, whimsy, and knowledge.
Gardens may be previewed on Tuesday evening, June 20, from 4-7 p.m., and on walk days, Wednesday, June 21, and Thursday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The popular free Art and Craft Fair will be held at Crete Methodist Church, 1321 Main Street, in Crete, on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tickets, at $20 each, are available at Crete Ace Hardware, Crete Curves, Crete Township Hall, The Finishing Touch Florist in Crete, Smits Farm in Chicago Heights, and Forever Green Landscape Center in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Tickets also may be purchased June 21 and 22 at the CWC tent in the Crete Methodist Church parking lot, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Ticket information is available at cretewomansclub.net or at 708-672-9438.
Each ticket supports the Crete Woman’s Club’s scholarship program and general philanthropy. Rain or shine, walkers will enjoy amazing residential gardens and the Art and Craft Fair, which has something for everyone. Don’t forget – Garden Walk tickets make great gifts, too. Local restaurants will be ready with a variety of luncheon menus. At the same time walkers enjoy the gardens, local small businesses benefit from the patronage of walkers.
Enjoy the artistry of nature with a bit of help from gardeners and members of the Crete Woman’s Club. The gardeners and CWC members look forward to meeting you in the gardens!
