Jason’s Deli, which had been open in Oak Lawn for more than 10 years, closed its doors for the last time on May 31.
According to employees, the Beaumont, Texas-based restaurant at 6260 W. 95th St. closed because the lease was up and the company decided not to renew. Messages to the company were not returned.
There are still three Jason’s Delis in the Chicago area in the South Loop, Naperville and Oak Brook. Their menu includes sandwiches, wraps, baked potatoes, pasta, soups, salads, and desserts, as well as catering items such as boxed lunches.
The chain of fast casual restaurants was founded in 1976 in Beaumont by Joe Tortorice Jr. There are currently over 245 locations in 29 states.
