Jerl “Jeri” Roop, 65, of Richton Park, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Olympia Fields Hospital surrounded by her family. Born June 30, 1957, in Chicago Heights, she was the daughter of Gordon and Eleanor (Schrader) Jensen.
Jeri was an accounting manager at TAT Logistics. She enjoyed arts and crafts, camping, traveling, sitting by the ocean, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Roop of Richton Park; daughters, Megan (Justina) Roop and Mandy Roop, all of Steger; son, Andrew Williams of Steger; stepson, Jack Roop of Bolingbrook; grandchildren, Savana Isom, Chayce Isom, and Kaitlyn Edwards; brother Lloyd (Becky) Jensen of Katy, Texas; sisters, Barb Stephens of Park Forest and Beth (Tom) Schultz of Beecher; sister-in-law, Donna Jensen of Peotone; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces, Taryn of Kankakee and Tricia of Chicago Heights. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Russell Jensen.
A funeral service was held on May 24, at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher, with Pastor Jack McCormick officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
