Ellen Elizabeth Ermler, 82, of Manteno, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Born August 24, 1940, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Kevin and Clarice (Goergen) Walliser. On July 18, 1975, she married Robert Ermler.
Ellen worked at Federal Signal Corporation for 26 years as the Human Resources Manager. She loved boating with her husband for many years, and they traveled the world together. Ellen also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 48 years, Robert Ermler; children, Donna (Bill) Wadkins, Philip (Deona) Ashline, Elizabeth (John) Turek, and Jennifer (Erik) Graham; stepchildren, Robert Ermler, Michael (Debbie) Ermler, and Dawn (Len) Fischer; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Florence (Tom) Dennisen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kevin and Clarice Walliser; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette (Don) Gibbs.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
