Charles P. Peterson Jr., 57, of Beecher, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Loyola Hospital. Born on April 17, 1966, in Chicago Heights, he was the son of Charles and Bobbie (Hacko) Peterson.
Charles was raised on the family farm in rural Beecher, attended Beecher schools, and graduated from Beecher High School. He was proud of his swine, showed them at the Will County Fair, and also worked on the family farm. He was a member of Pipefitters Local 597, where he worked for various contractors throughout his career. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting with his family, both in Illinois and Wyoming. He also enjoyed playing with his two children on the farm and at the Goodenow Forest Preserve.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Charlise Piper Peterson; son, Charles Preston Peterson III; brothers, Thomas, John, and Edward Peterson; cousin, Tommy (Judy) Daley; sister in-law, Teresa Peterson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bobbie Peterson.
A funeral service was held on May 6, at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher, with interment following at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Beecher. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
