On Monday, April 24, in a non-conference home game, the Bobcat varsity softball team beat Lincoln-Way East 2-0. In the shutout, Ava Lorenzatti allowed only 3 hits in seven innings on the mound, to pick-up her 11th win, with no losses. Beecher scored 2 runs, on 3 hits, in addition to 1 error.
Wednesday, April 26, the Lady Bobcats traveled to Cedar Lake, Indiana, to face Hanover Central in a non-conference game, but were unable to bring home the win, losing 1-3. For Beecher, the Bobcats scored 1 run, on 6 hits, but committed 3 errors. Hanover Central scored 3 runs, on 5 hits, with no errors.
Beecher avoided the shutout by scoring 1 run late in the game, in the seventh. Ava Lorenzatti, who is now 11-1, took the loss on the mound. The Bobcats current overall record is 20-2.
In the first game on Thursday, April 27, against conference foe Grace Academy of Kankakee, the Lady Bobcats trounced their rival, 16-0, in the no hit shutout. Taylor Norkus pitched four perfect innings, which included 11 strikeouts.
The Lady Bobcats continued to keep their home fans happy, with another 16-0 shutout in game two. Ava Lorenzatti, the winning pitcher, allowed no hits, along with 8 strikeouts in three innings. She currently is 12-1. In relief, Abby Papas gave up 1 hit. On the day, the Bobcats scored 32 runs, along with 25 hits to seal their double victory.
Beecher now is 22-2 overall and 14-0 in the RVC.
