Steven “Steve” Paul Anderson, 70, of Kankakee, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at his home. Born August 18, 1952, in Kankakee, he was the son of Duane and Veronica (Gawronski) Anderson. Steve married Sherry Meyer on April 22, 1972, at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry of Kankakee; daughters, Tammy (Joseph) Ahern of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Michelle (Karl) Zilske of Bradley, and Sarah (Michael) Hale of O’Fallon; grandchildren, Ryan Ahern, Kelsie Sladen, Dyllan Natschke, Jacob Natschke, Paul Ahern, Blake Hale, Nathan Hale, Emily Hale, and Steven Zilske; great-grandchildren, Korra Natschke, Theo Ahern, Lilah Ahern and Amani Sladen; sister, Sue (Mark) Colehower of Peotone; and brothers, Jim (Andi) Anderson, and Robert “Bob” (Amy) Anderson, all of Kankakee. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Timothy Anderson.
A funeral service was held on April 29, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais, with Rev. Dan Belanger officiating. Cremation rights were accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
