Julie A. Anderson, 50, of Bourbonnais, passed away after a valiant three-year battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at her home. Born February 16, 1973, in Kankakee, she was the daughter of Kenneth D. and Edith (Dunn) Anderson. Julie married Terrence Shannon on June 27, 2020, in Bourbonnais.

Julie was a retired special agent for the F.B.I. Prior to that, she had been an Assistant State’s Attorney in Tazwell and McLean Counties and also had been an attorney for the City of Chicago. She was a graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Julie volunteered for KC CASA, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are her husband, Terrence Shannon of Bourbonnais; her mother, Edith Anderson of Bourbonnais; sisters, Carolyn (Jeff) Hackley of Bradley and Valerie (George) Xanders of Mt. Vernon; and five nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Lance Hurley officiating. Interment will follow at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
