On Wednesday, April 5, in a non-conference contest at Bishop McNamara, the Panthers lost to the Fightin’ Irish, 0-8. Unfortunately for Manteno, the Irish recorded 5 goals in the first half, and added 3 more in the second. Working overtime in the net was Ava Derrico, who had 24 saves for the Panthers.
Then on Wednesday, April 12, Manteno visited Reed-Custer for a 5:30 conference game. Reed-Custer won 2-0, with Manteno allowing 1 goal in each half. Ava Derrico, again came through with 16 saves as the goalkeeper.
On Thursday, April 13, Manteno hosted the Streator/Woodland Bulldogs in a non-conference contest. In the close contest, with the game tied until the 65th minute of the game, Streator was finally able to poke one in, resulting in the only goal of the game. The final was 1-0, Streator/Woodland, with Ava Derrico recording 14 saves in the game.
