WIU Announces Spring College, Departmental, Honors Scholars: Western Illinois University recently announced students named as College, Departmental, and Honors Scholars. Congratulations to the following local students.

From Kankakee: Aldo Hernandez, Psychology, will graduate with academic distinction, cum laude.

From Manhattan: Molly McCauley, Law Enforcement and Justice Administration, Centennial Honors College Scholar, will graduate with highest academic distinction, summa cum laude.

From New Lenox: Aaron Weseloh, Forensic Chemistry, Centennial Honors College Scholar, will graduate with academic distinction, cum laude.

Klozik Honored at Art Exhibition: Artwork by Lewis University students and alumni currently is on display in the President’s 15th Annual Art Exhibition at the Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery, on the university’s main campus in Romeoville. The free exhibit, which is open to the public, will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through April 21. Congratulations to Savannah Klozik, from New Lenox, for her American Crow (Corvus Brachyrhynchos), acrylic and marker on canvas (painting). Savannah is studying Graphic Design at Lewis University.

Augustana College Presents “Amahl and the Night Visitors:” The Augustana Opera program will perform “Amahl and the Night Visitors” on April 21, at 7:30 p.m., and April 23, at 1:30 p.m., in Brunner Theatre at Augustana College. The performance is directed by Dr. Patrick McNally, assistant professor of music and director of opera. Featured in the cast are Jessa Simon, Miranda Tyda, and Sarah Walton, all of New Lenox.

Dean’s List

More than 1,825 undergraduate students qualified for the fall 2022 University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s List. Among those honored are: Kelsi Asselborn, Patrick Kale, and Josephine Bernier, all of New Lenox.

Kaitie McGary of Crete, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2022 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. McGary is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.
