March 27, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a lockout call turned into a recovered stolen vehicle. The Amazon employee, who needed assistance, was able to produce a document stating she purchased the vehicle from a Markham car repair man. Unfortunately, it appears the vehicle was not his to sell. Oak Forest took the vehicle and the investigation.
March 28, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Monee-Manhattan Road traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Taylor Jacklin, 33, of Monee, for no insurance and no valid driver’s license. He was processed and bonded.
March 28, at approximately 8:55 p.m., a traffic stop on Court Street at Egyptian Trail ended with Jacob Flick, 21, of Beecher, being cited for no insurance and suspended registration. He was bonded and released.
March 29, at approximately 2 p.m., officers took a theft report from a Scioto Drive resident. The victim stated several packages had been stolen from her porch, while she was out of town. Email verifications indicate delivery was made. The resident indicated almost $500 in items were taken. Investigations is following up.
March 30, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers took a stolen vehicle report from a Crocis Avenue residence. The owner reported his 2016 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from his driveway. Two suspects are known to have broken a window in the Jeep to gain entry and were then able to drive away. The keys were still in the owner’s possession. MPD was able to track the unit for a short period of time, before losing it in the Glenwood area. Investigators are following up.
March 31, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a vehicle stop on Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the arrest of Emily Rodriguez, 25, of Chicago, for driving while suspended and no insurance. She was processed and bonded.
March 31, at approximately 7 p.m., a vehicle stop on Monee-Manhattan Road left a Kankakee man looking for a ride home. A traffic stop resulted in the confiscation of illegal Wisconsin wholesaler plates and a no insurance citation. Henry Obasiolu, 31, was processed and bonded. The vehicle was towed.
