Marie P. Duval, 92, of Kankakee, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Heritage Village in Kankakee. Born February 8, 1931, in Reddick, she was the daughter of Clement and Edith (Ruder) Riordan. Marie married Robert Duval on February 14, 1953, in Reddick. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2005.
Marie, a 1949 graduate of Reddick High School, was a homemaker, who enjoyed quilt making and sewing. She was a long-time supporter of Herscher High School Athletics and Music Programs and was a member of the Forget Me Nots, a past 4-H leader, and a Cub Scout “Den” mother.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia (Gary) Sabino of Streator, Linda (Jim) Terrell of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Michelle (Josh) Malinsky of Stillwater, Minnesota; sons and daughters-in-law, James (Hope) Duval of Streamwood, Don (Gail) Duval of Herscher, Steve (Sandy) Duval of Ashkum, and Lynda Duval of Royal; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Norman (Sharon) Riordan of Herscher; sister, Rosemary Brooks of Reddick; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas Duval and Richard Duval; and brother, Charles “Dale” (Juanita) Riordan.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on March 25, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher, with interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.
