Structural fire at 455 East Bourbonnais Street, Kankakee.
On February 2, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Kankakee Fire Department was notified of a residential fire at 455 E. Bourbonnais Street. The fire resulted in the death of a resident. Within the structure, the fire department found male resident Phillip Spencer deceased. The fire was investigated and was determined to be suspicious in nature.
Kankakee Fire/Arson Investigators and Kankakee Police Detectives conducted a thorough death investigation. Recently, the investigation team arrested a suspect in connection with the fire. Mrs. Tammy Spencer, 57, of 455 E. Bourbonnais Street was arrested and will be charged with starting the fire and the death of Mr. Phillip Spencer.
The skilled investigation work from both the Kankakee Police and Kankakee Fire Department’s investigators led to Mrs. Spencer’s arrest. Charges are mere allegations.
