Richard Deneen Wilbanks, 51 of Manteno, died unexpectedly on February 3, 2023. The loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Rick was born on August 8, 1971, to Kenneth and Bernice Wilbanks in Harvey. Growing up he enjoyed being outside and on anything with wheels, especially motocross. His love for being outside hadn’t wavered over the years. He loved riding quads and snowmobiles and going fishing with his dad and son. He had a knack – from childhood to adulthood – for always finding a home for stranded puppies, namely just bringing them home. This is a testament to his kind and giving nature many have known and loved.
Rick is survived by his son Jay’vonn; parents Kenneth and Bernice; and siblings Troy, William, and Jamie. There are no events planned, as the family would like to have a private memorial to celebrate his life.
