Donna Marie (Hubert) Franklin, 79, of Bradley, was welcomed into the waiting arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, February 26, surrounded by her loving family, all of whom had been blessed by her loving heart and a home always open to those in need. Born October 26, 1943, she married Rodney Franklin on September 11, 2004.
Donna was a graduate of Herscher High School and was trained by the Sisters of St. Mary’s as a Surgical Technician, serving for 45 years in various hospitals. She was exceptionally well respected by both the professional medical staff and the people she served.
Donna was a committed student of the Bible, an active teacher in Home Bible studies, and a joyful participant in weekly worship services. Her skills as a servant of her Lord were honed over the years as an active participant in a family of 19 brothers and sisters.
Donna is survived by children, Jeanna (William) Denault, of Madison, Wisconsin, and Daniel (Sarah) Johnston, of Kankakee; grandchildren, Amanda (Cody) Kincade, of Sheldon, Bryan McGarey (Evelyn), of Bourbonnais, and Hunter and Madelyn Johnston, of Kankakee; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Deanna St. Aubin of Kankakee, Mary (Ray) Robinson of Bradley, Charlene (Wayne) Muse of Benton, Cheryl (Jim) Leadingham and Debra (Max) Hughes, all of Benton, and Merissa Hubert, of Kankakee; brothers, Butch (Susan) Hubert and Donald Hubert, all of Kankakee, John (Sandy) Hubert, of Bourbonnais, and Bill (Becky) Hubert, also of Kankakee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eleanor (Hebert) Hubert; sisters, Janice Patnaude and Sharon Brough; and brothers, Tommy, Mike, Jerry, Earl, Jim, and Ray Hubert.
A funeral service and Celebration of Life was held on March 4, at Cornerstone Church, with interment following at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
