Marcia M. Lemenager, 86, of Kankakee, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at Miller Health Care Center in Kankakee. Born November 20, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn (Walker) Williams. Marcia married Ronald Lemenager on September 12, 1959, in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Marcia was a devoted mother and very active in her children’s lives. She served as Deputy Registrar for Kankakee County and was a member of the League of Women’s Voters. Marcia worked at the Kankakee County Federal Employees Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, writing, and researching family genealogy. Most of all, Marcia loved spending time with her family and attending all her grandchildren’s events. She was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kankakee and was a very active volunteer in different organizations.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Ronald Lemenager of Kankakee; son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Lisa) Lemenager of Georgetown, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn (Peter) Macabobby of Wheaton and Sarah Barnard and Peter Wilkes of Frankfort; sister, Dianne Black of Rockland, California; sister-in-law, Betty Goldenstein of Kankakee; grandchildren, Jonathan (Sara) Lemenager, Jessica (Ryan) Doyle, Nathanael Lemenager, Michael Macabobby, Grace Macabobby, Annie Macabobby, Hannah Barnard, Emma Barnard, and Sophia Barnard; great-grandchildren, Kate, Quinn, and Jolie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carole Williams.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held, with inurnment at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
