Steve Bowman, 71, originally from Manteno, died in California on January 2, 2023, after an extended illness.
Firstborn of five children to Nedine (nee Lemenager) and Russell Bowman, Steve graduated from Manteno High School, then lived in Arizona before settling in Redonda Beach, California, and running his own home construction business. Later, he worked as a long-haul truck driver, with his home back in Manteno.
Steve is survived by one daughter, Angela (Pat) Boss and two granddaughters, Shealin and Jaline, of Saugus, California; three sisters, Marla (Rasmi) Abdallah of Bourbonnais, Mary Ellen (Scott) Hyland of Gloucester Point, Virginia; and Melanie (Rob) Holmes of Palos Park. He also is survived by beloved nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul, and special cousins, Bobby, Rick, and Tommy Renchen.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org or 800-AHA-USA-1).
