James W. Windmiller, 82, of Bourbonnais, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home. Born June 29, 1940, in Freeport, he was the son of Worth and Dorothy (Luy) Windmiller.
James, a retired employee of Quaker Oats/General Foods, was a graduate of Kankakee High School, a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame, and an All South Suburban Basketball Player. He also was a member of the 100 Club and a lifetime supporter of the MLB Hall of Fame, as well as an avid Illini and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed hunting and bowling.
Surviving are three sisters, Pat Smith of Milford, Kathy (Richard) Sadler of Bourbonnais, and Vicki (Mark) Eckhardt of Kankakee; nieces and nephews, Steve (Lisa) Sadler, Jennifer (Brian) Dismang, David (Amanda) Sadler, Mike Weissbohn, Terri (Tony) Naseef, Stacey (Ryan) Bennett, and Sarah Windmiller. James was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation was held Sunday, January 8, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with inurnment at Kankakee Memorial Gardens in Aroma Township.
