Eileen J. Eschbach, 71, of Jensen Beach, Florida, formerly of Green Garden, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born on August 3, 1951, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Annette (Crozier) McMahon. She married Joseph Lee Eschbach on December 12, 1970, in Palos Heights. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2018.

Eileen and Joseph owned and operated Northern Industrial Steel, Inc., from 1987 to 2011. She was one of the founding members of the Peotone Post Prom Committee and was active with that organization for many years. She was an avid golfer, an accomplished gardener, loved to read, a lifetime Parrothead, and a member of numerous clubs on Nettles Island. Eileen hosted “Camp Gia” for many years for all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her children, Darcie Huizenga of Lansing, Amy (Ed) Marevka of Peotone, Kate (Dr. Leon Yeh) Eschbach of Whiting, Indiana, and Jeff Eschbach of Peotone; grandchildren, Calvin Huizenga, Rebecca Huizenga, Emily (Austin) Kuhns, Joshua (Allison Moore) Marevka, Justin Marevka, and Christian Marevka; great-grandchildren, Michael Allen Walker, Ellis Austin Kuhns, and Paisley Eileen Marevka; sisters, Maureen (Joe) Gurican, Dr. Kathleen (Pat) Casey, Dr. Jeannine McMahon, and Francine (D.J.) Fioretti; brothers, Kevin (Marilyn) McMahon and Bob (Jill) McMahon; sisters-in-law, Karyn Garren and Pam Blair; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, with Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating.
