At the Bradley Village Board meeting on Tuesday, December 27, trustees awarded a contract for Lil’s Park parking lot expansion to Hamann Wagner Excavating in the amount of $77,295.
The expansion is part of a package of improvements to the park that will include a splash pad for summer recreation.
Mayor Mike Watson said all plans for the improvements to be completed are on track. He said “bids will go out for the splash pad construction later this winter,” and groundbreaking for it will happen in the late spring, with the plan to be operational for summer of 2024.
In other business, the village approved the hiring of another full time firefighter, with the swearing in of 26-year-old Jade Raines of Aroma Park. Raines comes to the Bradley Fire Department from the Limestone Fire Protection District.
Also, at the December 27 village board meeting, winners of the fourth annual Christmas lighting contest were announced. First place went to Justin Munson of 1435 Arthur Lane, second place was awarded to Luther Carter Jr. of 512 N. Blaine, and the third place prize went to Pauline Taylor of 1110 Guenivere Lane in Bradley.
