2 Dead, 4 hurt In LaGrange Road crash
By Bob Bong
Two people were killed and four more injured in a traffic crash Sunday afternoon on LaGrange Road in unincorporated Palos Park.
Cook County Sheriff’s Police said a 56-year-old man died at the scene and a 54-year-old woman died of her injuries at an area hospital.
Police said they responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the crash near 119th Street and LaGrange Road.
Police said a Buick sedan was trying to make a left turn onto northbound LaGrange when it was struck by a Dodge pickup truck traveling southbound.
The victims were in the Buick that was struck. Their identities were not immediately available from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Two other people in the Buick and two people in the Dodge were also taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
LaGrange Road was shut down for several hours Sunday evening to allow for accident reconstruction.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Cook County Sheriff’s Police Detectives at 708-865-4896.
