St. Nick was known for selling all of his possessions and giving to the poor. He may just leave you a treat in your sock.
Sorry I was so short last week. I actually was quite lucky to be able to focus for the short time needed to send the column to my editor. I had fever, nausea, lightheadedness and cough. A day later, Robert is crying with the same symptoms. We both took three COVID-19 tests, and all were negative.

As I write this on Friday, Nov. 25, I am still feeling the side effects, having eaten very little since.
Outside of me, I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. The students of Sts. Bruno & Richard School came together to give thanks for their many blessings and shared a meal. The girls of SBRS participated in Girls on the Run, a program that helps build confidence, kindness and decision making skills in young women. The girls met their tasks on a chilly, crisp Saturday morning and connected physical and emotional health.

Here is a shout out to the St. Turibius Parish (St. Vincent de Paul) food pantry. The distribution of food was a huge success. Thank you to all that helped, including the many young people of the parish. Thank you also to some of the local markets whose donations helped make it possible.

This Sunday, Dec. 4, if you feel like heading out a little west to Garfield Ridge, stop for Breakfast with Santa. Boy Scout Troop 475 will be serving at St. Daniel the Prophet Church, 54th and Naotma. Breakfast runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, desserts and raffles. The price is $7, and children 6 and under are admitted free of charge.
Hope to see some of you at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church on Sundy, Dec. 4. The Blue Mass blessing for police officers will start at 10:30 a.m.
