Oak Lawn police reports for November 17
DUI
Tyrese M. Smith. 28, of Evergreen Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at 4:13 a.m. Nov. 9, in the 7000 block of west 95th Street. Police reported following his speeding vehicle, with sirens on, as he drove west from the 5300 block of 95th Street. Police said he failed field sobriety tests and registered 0.185 blood-alcohol content on a breath test. He was also cited for aggravated speeding, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence of drugs and improper lane usage. He is due in court on Dec. 13.
Aggravated speeding
Jaylen J. Smallwood, 21, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated speeding following a traffic stop at 1:49 a.m. Nov. 10, at 95th Street and South Cicero Avenue. Police said he was driving more than 35 mph over the speed limit. He was also cited for driving without insurance, expired registration, and improper display of license plates. Smallwood is due in court on Dec. 13.
Stolen vehicles
A white 2021 Kia Sportage was reported stolen from an apartment building lot on Kilpatrick Avenue at 12:53 a.m. Nov. 6. The owner of the SUV discovered the vehicle missing after police responded to a call from another resident who saw three men trying to break into a red Toyota Sonata in the same parking lot. The men fled in a blue Toyota Sonata, which had been reported stolen in Markham, with the stolen white Kia in front to them.
A 2019 Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen from the 9300 block of South Harlem Avenue at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 7, where it was last seen on Nov. 4. Police said broken glass was found in the parking space, and the vehicle was found by Chicago police at 9:38 a.m. the following day in the 10800 block of South Parnell Avenue.
Cannabis possession
Jermaine J. Jackson, 41, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis and other offenses after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle outside Walgreens, 4740 W. 95th St., at 4:33 p.m. Nov. 7. Police said he and three other men left the store and drove away in the car, which was stopped in the 7800 block of South Cicero Avenue. Police said 12.5 grams of cannabis in three bags not from a dispensary were found in his shoe. He was also cited for obstructing and resisting a peace officer for allegedly resisting efforts to search him. He is due in court on Dec. 12.
Drug possession
Lama L. Alramahi, 49, of Justice, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance after police were called to TC Too’s Pub, 9906 Southwest Highway, at 10:06 p.m. Nov. 4. Police said a woman fitting her description was reported to be selling drugs there. They said she was carrying seven knotted bags containing 6 grams of cocaine, and admitted selling four others. Two pills containing LSD were also found. Sher was also charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and held for a bond hearing.
