County clerk reminds residents of voting options
As Election Day approaches, the Cook County Clerk’s Office is reminding suburban voters of the options that are available to cast their ballot in the November 8 Gubernatorial Election.
The Clerk’s Office also reminds voters that if they have a Mail Ballot that they wish to drop at a secure drop box location, they must do so before Election Day. Mail Ballots can be dropped at early voting locations through November 7, but Mail Ballots will not be accepted at local precincts on Election Day, November 8.
Here are the voting option details:
Vote by Mail
Suburban voters who plan to Vote by Mail must request a ballot no later than November 3. Ballots can be mailed with the pre-paid postage envelope provided or dropped off at one of the 53 secure Mail Ballot Drop Box locations during Early Voting, which concludes November 7.
Again, Mail Ballots cannot be returned on Election Day at local precincts and if mailed must be postmarked by Election Day, November 8.

Early Voting
Suburban voters can cast a ballot or register to vote at any of the 53 Early Voting locations through November 7. Voters do not need to vote at a specific location when Early Voting and may choose whichever of the 53 locations works best for them.
Cook County residents who would still like to register to vote can do so at any Early Voting location by providing two forms of identification, including one with their current address, and they must vote in person at the time that they register. Election Day Voting
On Election Day (Nov. 8) voters must cast their ballot or register to vote at either their home precinct or at one of two downtown Chicago universal voting sites. The two universal voting sites include the Cook County Administration Building at 69 W. Washington and Chicago’s Union Station.
