Vols make AHCA Easter egg hunt a hit

I chose this quote after reading the Archer Heights Civic Association’s May newsletter.
After many trials and tribulations trying to put the 2022 Easter Egg Hunt together at Archer Park, it was thanks to volunteers and donors that the effort was a grand success. There were free raffles for both children and adults with plush rabbits and candy filled plastic eggs.
In an article written by Rosario Ayala, it states, “We all enjoyed helping set up for the event and meet new people from our community. But when it came time to see the little ones (ages 3 and under group) pick up those Easter eggs, it brought everyone in the room a big smile.”

If you live in Archer Heights and are interested in joining the association, they are now in the midst of a membership drive. Dues are just $15 per year. Checks can be made payable to the Archer Heights Civic Association and mailed to 4444 S. Pulaski, Chicago, 60632.

Hubbard Palooza will be happening on Wednesday, May 25. Take a walk over 62nd and Hamlin to enjoy food trucks, dancers, singers and bands. It is an outdoor event for the whole family. It starts at 4 p.m.
I started physical therapy for my injured knee on Feb. 2. I was barely walking on crutches with a brace on my knee. I am now nearing the end of my sessions. I use a cane when I am outside, primarily for confidence; but otherwise, my improvement has been a success.
I would like to thank the dedicated staff at ATI Physical Therapy, 4307 S. Pulaski. From the P.T.’s to the P.T.A’s to the staff members, they have all been wonderful. Oh, they were slightly tough (in a nice way); but no pain, no gain. So, thank you Neil, Matt, Miguel, Christine and Jose. I hope I haven’t missed anyone. I will miss you all.
On the issue of a sore knee, I was asked to march in the Polish Constitution Day Parade on May 7, downtown alongside 15th Ward Ald. Raymond Lopez and his supporters for his bid for mayor. I would have loved to join, but I was reluctant because of the length of walking. I hope it was a success.
Last week I mentioned that it is time to garden. But does this seem like winter, winds and rain are taking their sweet time to leave? But being Chicago, by the time you read this it could be 90 degrees outside.
