Argo wrestlers advance to sectionals

Nine members of the Argo wrestling team qualified for this weekend’s sectional tournament at the IHSA Class 3A regional at Mount Carmel High School last Saturday.
Head Wrestling Coach Matthew McMurray said, “It was a great job by all of our wrestlers as they finished in third place. We are looking forward to this coming week.”
The following wrestlers finished in the top three of their weight class to advance: Juan “The Don” Villa, third place, 106 pounds; David “Quiet Man” Gonzalez, third place, 113 pounds; Paul “The Chef” Hernandez, second place, 132 pounds; Javier Fuentes-Lunar, third place, 145 pounds; Luke “ Polish Hammer” Wesolowski, third place, 160 pounds; Ethan Medel, second place, 182 pounds; Gerardo “Pole Vault” Bustillos, third place, 195 pounds; Francisco “ Cisco” Luna, third place, 220 pounds; Rolando “Rolo” Ochoa, second place, heavyweight.
The IHSA Class 3A Individual Sectional at Hinsdale Central High School will take place on Friday and Saturday.
