William W. Bridges, 73, of Peotone and formerly of Dolton, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 5, 1948, in Chicago, he was the son of Woodrow and Marian McAlister Bridges. William was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Amtrak, where he worked as an engineer. He enjoyed attending car shows.
Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife, Pamela (Mech) Bridges, whom he married on June 24, 1969, in Chicago. He also is survived by a son Joseph W. Bridges, of Peotone; a daughter Brooke Bridges, also of Peotone; a granddaughter Allison Bovara; a brother Charles Bridges; and a sister DeeDee Voss.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Nicole Bridges; a son Michael William Bridges; a sister Joan Walters; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Dorothy Mech.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 8, with Deacon Jim Kelly officiating.
