The Monee Historical Society decorated its first Christmas tree at the newly dedicated Heritage Center last weekend. Residents and MHS members, including Thomas and Rachel White, were invited to bring an ornament with their family name and date to be placed on the tree for years to come.
MHS President Christi Holston said many new and exciting things are underway for the group. “January will feature a quilt display, and we also hope to offer lessons in knitting and crochet,” she previewed.
“We will have our first story time for preschool children at 10 a.m. on December 28, in conjunction with the Peotone Library District .”
Also, she added, there will be a new mystery book club in January, a new history book club in February, a monthly Story Time, and the 2022 calendar soon will be available. More information will be available soon, she said.
